Studies show 10% of the population expresses interest in making an insurance gift to the charity of their choice, representing billions in prospective gifts. However, nonprofit organizations barely scratch the surface of this potential revenue source.

Gifts of life insurance are attractive to donors because it gives them the opportunity to make a moderate cash gift today that will be leveraged to create a major contribution to their favorite charity tomorrow. This allows more contributors to become major donors than would be possible through cash gifts alone. In addition, the donor will enjoy a tax deduction today.

By giving donors a variety of ways to achieve major donor status, nonprofit organizations will be better positioned to inspire greater giving.
